Tips on Keeping Your Porsche Healthy Between Routine Maintenance Visits

Even the most diligent of vehicle owners can run into trouble between maintenance visits. A pothole might jar something loose and leave you with a persistent rattle, or an unseen, minor issue might exacerbate into something major without warning—it’s just the nature of vehicles in general.

And while unplanned issues can cause headaches to any auto owner, if you’re a Porsche owner, the headaches you face from unwarranted issues can be particularly troublesome. Porsche is a luxury brand with complex systems at work under the hood, which means when a problem arises you’ll need to a) find a capable Porsche repair shop in Conway, AR, b) schedule an emergency appointment and c) pay for whatever repairs need to be resolved.

What can you do?

While stopping random issues from arising is going to be nearly impossible, there are steps you can take to help make sure you’re giving your vehicle your best efforts in keeping it maintained to a superior degree. Some of the things you can do include:

  • Check your fluids regularly. Also, check under your vehicle and in your parking space to spot any stains or drips that might indicate a leak. Note also that any fluids that appear low likely indicate an unseen leak—everything but your window washer fluid is part of a closed system.
  • Go through and check your belts, if possible, to make sure they’re all in good condition. Squeaking or squealing when you turn on your vehicle is a good indicator that your belts are loose. When the vehicle is off, give them a good pull to see if there’s any slack (there shouldn’t be.
  • Take a look at your battery to ensure there isn’t corrosion forming around the contact or anywhere else. Battery troubles are absolutely avoidable with a little bit of inspection!
  • Look closely at your tires and check the PSI. Keeping tires full and having worn treads serviced or replaced will help you avoid a lot of unfortunate issues that can arise due to poor tire maintenance.

You don’t need to be a mechanic to do any of the above items—anyone can do them and they take only seconds each to accomplish.

Keep up on maintenance

The other major factor that can help you keep your vehicle functioning at top capacity in between visits to your Porsche repair shop in Conway, AR is to follow your maintenance schedule as closely as possible.

Think about it. If you’re getting an oil change every 5,000 miles and routine services at that time, you’ll be able to incrementally manage your vehicle’s condition. If you’re inconsistent, however, it’ll put stress and strain on your vehicle and make it harder to stay on top of developing issues. An oil change after 3,000 miles, then again after 6,000 miles, then again after 4,000 miles means gaps between service that will be hard to stay on top of.

Finally—and this bears repeating—always consult with a certified Porsche repair shop in Conway, AR if you have questions in between service appointments. Getting the wrong information and maintaining your vehicle incorrectly will do even more harm than not maintaining it at all between service calls!
